Stitch Fix #25: September finds

A Fit Mess
September 15, 2016

Hey all! I’m excited to share my September Stitch Fix items with you. My stylist Katie sent me some awesome items and I was really happy with most of her picks. I mentioned to her in this month’s styling note that I wasn’t really looking for anything in particular, but requested some casual, lifestyle pieces. And as usual, she delivered.

For those who are unfamiliar with Stitch Fix, it’s an online shopping service that matches you with a personal stylist who selects and sends you 5 items based on your style profile, Pinterest Style Board, and specific requests. You keep what you want and return what you don’t – all without ever paying shipping fees. Your $20 monthly fee gets credited toward any purchases you make. For tips on how to make the most out of your fixes, read this post.

What I appreciate most about Stitch Fix is the convenience. Items are sent directly to my doorstep and I can try everything on in the comfort of my own home. I decide what I want, check out using the Stitch Fix app on my phone, and place any items I want to return directly in my mail box. It’s that easy!

Another thing I appreciate about Stitch Fix is it’s customer focus. They love feedback – not only about the apparel, but the service itself. More than once I’ve received notice that the company is changing its process or offerings based on customer feedback. One example of this? They now offer exchanges on items! If you love an item, but it doesn’t quite fit you can request another size (if it’s available).

Psst – they now have a MEN’S service so check it out if the man in your life could use help new clothes.

Okay, let’s jump in to my review!

Teighlor Slim Fit Drawstring Jogger Pant  (by good hYOUman) $78

A Fit Mess

These pants! I absolutely adore these jogger pants. Functional, comfortable, yet still make me feel put together.  I wouldn’t mind running errands or meeting a friend out for coffee in these pants. The material is high quality, too.

A Fit Mess

Unfortunately, they were just a bit too long and loose. I tried rolling up the bottoms, but was still left with a lot of material throughout the legs. I was hoping to exchange them for an XS, but they only had M and L left. So sad and disappointing for me (#curseoftheshortlegs).

Shoes – FLOJOS

Argus Lace Detail Knit Top (by Papermoon) $44

And this top was also a love! Papermoon always impresses me both on the style and uniqueness of its products. I really loved the knit material of this top and the light cream color. It could easily transition into a fall piece if layered under a chunky cardigan or flannel shirt.

Argus Lace Detail Knit Top (by Papermoon)

I really like the lace detail on the back and the cap sleeves.

A Fit Mess

I wore this top recently to a play date and paired it with my distressed denim shorts from my May Fix (total love).

Sandals Banana Republic (I think) – similar

Karlie Layered Lariat (by Jules Smith) $48

This layered lariat necklace by Jules Smith is really delicate and pretty. I like that it has a more casual look to it as well so you could totally wear it with a t-shirt and jeans.

Matt T-Shirt Knit Dress (by RD Style) $54

You had me at t-shirt dress. This dress is all sorts of cozy. It has a small front pocket and a tiny slit on the bottom for added detail. It was slightly longer in the back and made for comfort.

A Fit Mess

I cropped my head out because I had RBF in every single picture. Ha ha!

Gustav One Pocket Chambray Top (by Skies are Blue) $58

I was excited to see this chambray top in my fix. It reminded me of a similar shirt I wore about a zillion times while in college (eek – a decade ago!). It’s a soft brushed denim with mid length sleeves that can be rolled up slightly. Super, cute and very soft.

Shorts – Banana Republic Outlet

I decided to send it back after trying it on and realizing it wasn’t doing much for me. Then I attempted to take it off and realized it was almost impossible to get out of it. Sheesh!

That’s it! I was very happy with this month’s fix. I skipped last month because I knew I’d be traveling and wasn’t looking to spend any money on clothing so I was especially excited to receive my September items.

If you received a good fix, I’d love to know! Please feel free to share your comments below or a link to your review!
