New website layout, weekend recap + last week’s workouts

Did you wonder where I went? If you follow me on Facebook, you may have seen my post that I was transitioning to a new host for my website and things were not yet transferred over. I’m really glad I upgraded my site, but it’s a bit like starting over. I have to reinstall all my plugins and features, mess with my layout, and update images. I also realized I have to read through 100+ posts (again!) to remove these strange wingdings that appeared after the move. This blog has definitely been a labor of love for me, but I am so happy to be connecting with all of you and to have your support on this journey.

So a few thoughts before I jump into my weekend recap and workouts:

My site is still being transitioned and it will take some time before everything is set. Please be patient while I iron out some of the details. I wish I had more hours in the day to dedicate to my site, but that’s just not a reality right now.  I will be making my way through and updating things as I can. In the end, it should improve the site’s look and feel. And it should load faster and be more mobile-friendly.

On Friday my father arrived into town. He’s staying with us for awhile and it’s been really great to have him here. The girls have enjoyed getting some time with Papa.

My dad is really handy so whenever I know he is coming to visit I make a list of projects around the house that I would love him to help me with. And by “help me with,” I mean have him do everything while I make coffee and chat with him. He’s a perfectionist and makes sure to do the very best job on things.

What’s a to-do list without a trip to Lowe’s? Clearly the girls aren’t impressed with the value chain store. They were troopers. Is there anything more boring for kids than a trip to Lowe’s?

Saturday morning I squeezed in a workout at Orangetheory before the day started. I was in a funky mood for some reason, but getting a good sweat in really switched me back into a better mindset. Just one more reason why I love working out.

Afterwards we visited at the house for awhile, ran a few errands, and then started on some of the house projects. Highlights included: fixing doors, hanging curtain rods, sanding floors, organizing garage equipment. Dads are the best!

Ashlyn wanted to help, too, so I filled a bucket with soap and water and asked her to paint our brick walkway and stair railings. She loved it!

The summer is the only time I ever drink white wine. The heat just gets me craving something cold.

We spent lots of time outdoors enjoying the beautiful weather!
