3 home workouts that can be done in 20 minutes

As many of you know, after having kids I needed to get creative with my workouts due to my limited and somewhat unpredictable schedule. I love HIIT and Tabata workouts because you are able to get your heart rate up and incorporate powerful movements in a short amount of time. More bang for your buck.


Here are three workouts you can do in just 20 minutes using only body weight as resistance. I’d recommend downloading the Gymboss app on your phone. It’s a free timer that can be customized for Tabata and HIIT exercises.

20 minute home workouts

20-15-10 Combo

Perform as many rounds as possible until you reach 20 minutes.

20 skater jumps
15 pike push ups
10 v ups
20 jump squats
15 dips
10 power push ups



Perform each set as follows: 20 seconds as hard as possible, 10 seconds rest. For example, Set 1: do as many push ups as possible for 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds, perform 20 seconds of mountain climbers, rest 10 seconds. Repeat this cycle 3 more times for a total of 4 minutes.

Set 1 :Push ups / mountain climbers

Set 2: air squats / tuck jumps

Set 3: sit ups / switch jumps

Set 4: burpees / high knees

Set 5: bicycle crunches / leg lifts

Complete as many rounds as possible until you reach 20 minutes

10 v-ups
15 push ups
20 jump squats
25 mountain climbers or skaters
